I love a challenge, so when our clients came to us asking for a functional use of their small space I was very excited. With a small footprint we had to be thoughtful with our layout and make sure we landed all the items on the wish list: raspberry patch, raised planters for veggies, clover lawn, deck for entertaining and sun bathing, space for a pool or cold plunge. We started from scratch completely scraping out the front and backyard (thank you Jesse from Dirt Pro). The front yard had sunken due to a water main break the previous year so we made sure to scrape deep and carefully compact all of our layers before setting our paving in the front yard. This step is crucial and one we take care with on all of our projects! Dillan from Brick by Brick takes care of all of our brick paving and he takes the quality of his finished product, plus its longevity very seriously. As the project moved along we uncovered drainage from the neighbouring house coming straight onto our client’s property. We gathered as a group and came up with a solution to work in tandem with the neighbours and their landscapers. In the end both houses were able to update their shared fence and solve their drainage issues!
