We love when clients reach out with the specific request to bring native plants into their yard to support the local insect population! We knew we wanted to build something close up to the front of the house and bring some height to a completely flat front yard. Our client was also looking to create a natural screen between their property and the neighbouring walkway. Working with plugs from Prairie Originals as well as mature grasses from Jefferies Nursery we were able to fulfill the client’s desire for native plant species as well as create a space full of texture, colour and natural privacy. Dillan from Brick by Brick reworked the front lawn irrigation system into the Barkman Rosetta Dimensional planter he built for us. Everything is watered automatically and timed for the water needs of each plant. Lakeshore Tree Farms supplied us with a beautiful mature Hot Wings Maple which is a perfect mid size ornamental tree for a smaller space. Dieter Martin Greenhouse had the most beautiful selection of Hydrangeas begging to come home with us, they were mature and ready to bloom when we planted them.
