Project & Team Manager - FULL SEASON (April - November)

Prairie River Gardens is a custom yard and garden design company specializing in unique designs, high-quality installation, and long-term landscape maintenance. Client relationships are central to everything we do. We take ownership of problems, communicate clearly, and ensure our clients feel supported and cared for throughout every project.
Position Details:
Type: Full-Time Employee Position [40 hours/week]
Term: 8 months: April 2026 - November 2026
Schedule: 4 x 10-hour days [Mon-Thurs]
Compensation: $25 - $30/hour CAD [negotiable, depending on experience]
Start Date: Spring 2026 [TBD]
Location: Saskatoon, SK
Experience: 2+ years preferred
Education: Management experience considered equivalent to formal education
Bonus: Eligibility for our Season-End Reliability Bonus [attendance + performance]
Requirements:
Proven experience as a crew lead or site supervisor
Valid Class 5 Driver’s License [G endorsement required]
Driver’s Abstract required
Able to lift 50+ lbs and perform physical labour
Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions
Responsible for proper care of tools, equipment, and vehicles
Reliable transportation to and from job sites
What We’re Looking For:
We are seeking a strong, organized leader who can manage people, projects, and priorities—while remaining hands-on in the field.
The ideal candidate is a physically fit, energetic Project & Team Manager with proven experience in landscaping, leadership, and job-site coordination.
Has experience as a landscaper, crew lead, or site supervisor
Can manage multiple crews and job sites simultaneously
Is highly organized with strong scheduling and coordination skills
Communicates clearly and professionally with both clients and crew
Remains calm under pressure and adapts quickly to changing conditions
Is detail-oriented and capable of tracking budgets, materials, and timelines
Takes ownership of outcomes and follows internal systems and processes
Represents Prairie River Gardens positively and professionally at all times
Is reliable, punctual, and committed to consistent attendance
Works hard, safely, and sustainably
Experience as a tree planter, residential/commercial landscaper or with basic carpentry is considered an asset.
Lives in or near Saskatoon, with their own means of reliable transportation.

What You’ll Be Doing:
This is a leadership role. You will be expected to address issues directly, respectfully, and promptly, and to make confident decisions in the field without constant oversight.
You must be comfortable using scheduling tools, calendars, and basic project-tracking systems.
Performing all core landscaping duties as required, including installation, maintenance, and site work
Supervising crews to ensure tasks are completed safely, efficiently, and to company standards
Maintenance Work: Mulching, weeding, and pruning; Maintaining drip irrigation systems
Yard/garden installation: Building raised beds; installing garden edging; loading & unloaded heavy building materials from truck and trailer; moving mulch; moving soil; moving bulk aggregate; proper installation of plants according to our company standard (to uphold our warranty); assisting with landscape outdoor lighting installation; assisting with micro irrigation installation; keeping job sites tidy and clean.
Scheduling staff across multiple projects and adjusting for weather, scope changes, or staffing issues
Managing and coordinating materials, pickups, deliveries, and equipment between sites
Overseeing multiple active job sites at once to ensure quality, safety, and timelines
Keeping projects on budget and following internal tracking and reporting processes
Acting as the primary client liaison on active projects
Communicating project updates, timelines, and changes to clients professionally
Tracking change orders, client requests, and scope adjustments
Handling day-to-day staffing issues in collaboration with the owner
Supporting crew performance, accountability, and morale
Representing Prairie River Gardens as a brand ambassador on-site and with clients
